Al seguir mi costumbre de leer el resto del wiki (en vez de solamente corroborar que en realidad fuera esa la traducción y cerrar la página) descubrí un piropo que aunque un poco silly me gustó. Se lo dedico a la amiga que admiré hoy.

That’s when I discovered Tumblr and the concept of tumblelogs. And while I loved it and even tested it out a bit, I always wanted a way to keep our school’s domain, so thus I’ve been interested in finding someway to port that simplicity into my own domain’s app.

Today I just found a Wordpress adaptation of the great tumblelog format, courtesy of zeo. It’s declared to be an engine as well as a theme. It seems, however, that I’ve either discovered it too late or too early, as it doesn’t seem to work with the most recent version of Wordpress, 2.8.2 at the moment.

Nevertheless, it looks interesting and I’d love to implement something like it soon. Will definitely tinker with it and see if I can’t get it to work.

This was in large part due to the fact that my dear little sister gave me the coolest little Sansa Clip and being 2GB, I wanted an excuse to discover new music, instead of having to choose from my 60GB+ of music on my iTunes. So I backed up my iTunes library to an external drive, started a new one from scratch, and embarked on my search for new music. Some of my favorite frequented pit stops for these discoveries are 3hive, NPR, KEXP, The New York Times, The White House, Pure Volume, Music for robots, Scott Hansen, and Jeff Doe.

These are not the only places I look for music, but they’re some of the more frequented. Some less visited places include virb, hype machine, tranceaddict and dj doboy. It’s March and while I’ve given in to listening to a few old songs that I acquired in 2008, I’ve done pretty good overall. Some of the songs I have succumbed to bringing back from my old library are Belanova’s Fantasía Pop album, Solar Stone’s seven cities, Godskitchen’s 2004 album, and Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. Other than that I’ve been very happy with discovering new faces and sounds. Later on I’ll probably list some of my favorite new discoveries.

I usually convert them to audio so I can listen to them throughout my day. I’ve written to the WhiteHouse.gov people and they’ve added the audio version on the following weekly address after every request. Interestingly, if I don’t request it, they don’t include it in their next post. It’s no big deal for me, since I can download the video and extract the audio myself, I just find it hard to believe I’d be the only one interested in having it in this format. Oh well… anyway, all that aside, I’m really happy to be able to get a grasp from the government’s point of view, of where we stand. I’m very optimistic for this presidency and though I don’t really claim a side (rep or dem) I do believe in great leader, and so far I’m happy. If anybody wants to see these weekly addresses, they can go to WhiteHouse.gov or their channel on vimeo.
